As considered by natives and horse lovers alike, The Melbourne Cup is "The Race that Stops a Nation". For an excuse to create a cocktail / to celebrate such an Australian event I made a G&C (gin and champagne) with mint, lime and plum. The best part about this though are these gold horse cocktail toppers I made over the weekend! Just $2.90 for 10 small plastic horses that are easy to spray paint and quick to dry!
2 oz gin
6 oz champagne
1 oz simple syrup
ice, mint, lime, plum
Directions: Pour gin and simple syrup over ice. Fill glass to the top with champagne (about 6 oz). Garnish with mint, lime and plum.
Directions: Spray with gold spray paint.
