Dying Easter Eggs with Whipped Cream

I LOVE Easter! And one of my favorite Easter traditions is dyeing eggs. Dyeing eggs with whipped cream sounds pretty weird, and honestly I was not sure if it would work, but, the results were a surprisingly beautiful, and it was SO easy to do! Some eggs picked up more dye and were bold and bright, and some ended up being lighter pastel shades, either way they turned out really well!

What you need:

  • Hard boiled eggs
  • Food coloring
  • Large container of extra cream Cool Whip
  • Large Glass Baking Dish (I used a throw-away tin-foil one)
  • Paper Towel
  • Toothpick, popsicle stick, or something to stir it with

How to:

  1. Hard boil eggs
  2. Let eggs cool completely!
  3. Transfer whipped cream into your baking dish.
  4. Generously dot food coloring all over the whipped cream.
  5. Using the toothpick or skewer swirl the food coloring dots together to combine the colors slightly.
  6. Place the eggs in the whipped cream and gently roll so the entire egg is covered.
  7. Let sit for 15-30 minutes, depending on how bold you would like the colors…if you remove an egg and it isn’t as colored as you’d like, rinse, pat dry, add a little more dye to the mix and let it sit for a few more minutes.
  8. Remove from the whipped cream, wipe with paper towel, and rinse eggs.
  9. Let them dry on a paper towel to catch any dye that is still on the eggs.
  10. Serve! Yes, you can eat them!
